STROKE-PARALYSIS

Stroke is considered as Pakshaghata in Ayurveda, one among the Vatavyadhi, as the vitiated vata dosha hampers the sensory and motor activities of the body. Pakshaghata / stroke being the most common ailment affecting the central nervous system, it leads to disability of certain parts of the body. This is caused due to blockage (blood clot – thrombosis) or the rupture (haemorrhage) of the blood vessels supplying to the brain & results in medical emergency.

Causes of Stroke
  • Dyslipidaemia (high cholesterol levels), diabetes, high blood pressure, overweight / obesity.
  • Smoking, alcohol, sedentary lifestyle, stress, heredity, cardiovascular diseases, etc. 
Treatment
