Dr. M.S Ramiah
Well-aware of the instrumental role that formal education plays in shaping individuals and, by extension, the progress of society, he firmly believed that education was the most powerful means to bring about social transformation and collective advancement.
His vision was not limited to personal success; he wished for others the same opportunities for growth, dignity, and empowerment that he desired for himself. This deep sense of empathy and social responsibility became the cornerstone of his philosophy — inspiring the organization’s unwavering pursuit of “Inclusive Excellence.”
Guided by this belief and under the aegis of the Gokula Education Foundation (GEF) Trust, he laid the foundation for a series of landmark institutions that would redefine education and healthcare in India. In 1962, he established the Ramaiah Institute of Technology, an institution that soon became synonymous with academic rigor and innovation.
This was followed by the creation of the Ramaiah Medical College in 1979, envisioned as a center of excellence that would nurture competent, compassionate healthcare professionals.
To complement this vision and provide hands-on clinical exposure, the Ramaiah Medical College Hospital was founded in 1984, serving as a hub for quality healthcare and medical research.
Over the next decade, several other institutions were established under his leadership, each contributing to the ever-growing educational ecosystem of the Ramaiah Group.

Dr. M. S. Ramaiah our Founder Chairman was a renowned visionary, philanthropist, and a pioneer in creating several landmark infrastructure projects in India. Dr. Ramaiah, a celebrated educationist, and entrepreneur established the Gokula Education Foundation (GEF) in the year 1962 with a mission to provide quality technical education that would propel India towards progress.
Recognizing the limited opportunities for professional education in post-independence India, Dr. Ramaiah took a pioneering step by establishing MSRIT under the aegis of GEF. His foresight and dedication laid the groundwork for a self-financed, private education model that addressed the aspirations of countless talented students across the nation.
Today, the GEF legacy encompasses 18 institutions, including MSRIT, all of which are dedicated to excellence in education and the holistic development of students.

- Dr. M.R. Jayaram, Chairman of Gokula Education Foundation (GEF), is a visionary leader with decades of experience in education, healthcare, and philanthropy. Son of the late Dr. M.S. Ramaiah, a renowned philanthropist and educationist, Dr. Jayaram has been instrumental in transforming GEF into a hub of excellence.
- At just 25, he assumed leadership of M.S. Ramaiah Institute of Technology (MSRIT), elevating it to a premier institution in engineering education. In 1979, he also became the Chairman of M.S. Ramaiah Medical College (MSRMC), fostering its growth into a center for postgraduate education and research. Under his stewardship, GEF has expanded to include 18 institutions on its sprawling 85-acre campus, offering programs in engineering, medicine, law, management, and more, with over 11,000 students from across the globe.
- Dr. Jayaram’s contributions extend beyond education. He established the M.S. Ramaiah Memorial Super Specialty Hospital and the MSR School of Advanced Studies. As Managing Trustee of the M.S. Ramaiah Charities Trust, he champions initiatives such as scholarships for underprivileged students.
- Beyond academics, Dr. Jayaram leads Valdel Corporation, a conglomerate spanning engineering, retail, and BPO sectors. As Dharmadhikari of Kaiwara Kshetra, he actively supports temple rejuvenation, healthcare, and community welfare.
- An Honorary Doctorate recipient from Coventry University, UK, Dr. Jayaram has also served in political and professional capacities, contributing significantly to Karnataka’s educational and social landscape.
- Dr. M.R. Jayaram, was recently honoured with the Karnataka Rajyotsava Award 2025 for his lifelong commitment to learning, leadership, and service to society.

He was responsible for Group Medical Operations, standardization and implementation of Quality system across all Hospitals of MHE. Also was responsible for the management of all “Teaching Hospitals” of the group.
He has over 40 years of rich experience in Health care management with various National and International Organizations in senior managerial positions & Board positions and proved his expertise as:
- Regional Director – Asia – AMCARE INTERNATIONAL – an affiliate of the Johns Hopkins International, USA –was responsible for Middle East and Far East operations.
- Chief Operating Officer – Canadian Specialist Hospital – Dubai – UAE.
- Medical Director – Fortis Heart Institute, Chandigarh, India

He brings with him, a rich multicultural experience with internationally recognized healthcare facilities in India, Malaysia and the United Arab Emirates.
He has excellent people management skills with experience in the delivery of quality initiatives, training and staff development.

Dr. Krishna J. is currently serving as the Medical Superintendent and heading Ramaiah Indic Specialty Ayurveda (RISA).
He is an accomplished Ayurveda specialist with over 20 years of experience in Panchakarma and holistic wellness, dedicated to delivering high-quality, patient-centered care rooted in Ayurveda principles.
He completed his postgraduate studies in Panchakarma at SDM College of Ayurveda,Hassan, and further refined his expertise under the mentorship of renowned Vaidyas.
His specialization in Panchakarma therapy allows him to effectively manage a wide range ofhealth conditions with a focus on restoring balance and promoting overall well-being.
With over 10 years of academic experience, Dr. Krishna has served as a Professor,contributing significantly to the education and development of Ayurveda practitioners.
He has held key leadership positions in prominent wellness organizations as :
- Director, Vedic Village Spa Resorts in Kolkata
- Director, The White Lotus Global Integrative Healthcare in New Delhi
- CEO & Director, Shathayu Ayurveda Pvt. Ltd. in Bengaluru, where he successfully integrated Ayurveda into modern wellness frameworks.
He has provided consultancy to prominent individuals, including former heads of state, legal dignitaries, and senior government officials, reflecting his expertise and trustworthiness in the field.
He has shared his insights on Ayurveda and wellness as a speaker at various national and international conferences.
He is recipient of awards such as the Ayurveda Sevak Award and the Young Achiever Award.
He played a pivotal role in achieving NABH accreditation for India’s first wellness center at Vedic Village in 2013 and served as an NABH assessor and committee member for wellness center accreditation programs.
