Ayurveda Therapist Training Course

PREAMBLE

The 21st century is witnessing a rapid growth and development of alternate systems of healthcare all over the world. India is uniquely poised to effectively contribute to this growth by virtue of its innate system of medicine, Ayurveda. The growing interest for Ayurveda at home and abroad is welcoming and hence it is imperative that we build capacity to meet this need at all levels. While educational Institutes/Universities are providing excellent graduate and post-graduate level training, the Ayurveda sector has very few training programs for paramedical staff like Nurses, Therapists and Pharmacists. Paramedical staff account for approximately 50% of a Healthcare organization and form an integral part of all Ayurveda healthcare facilities too. Skilled and experienced staff with the right blend of technical knowledge and soft skills therefore, is the need of the hour.

ABOUT THE PROGRAM

To meet the need for training programs for paramedical staff, RISA along with Health Sector Skill Council proposes to initiate an education and training programs for therapists. The program will focus on a holistic development of the therapist trainee in all spheres including technical knowledge and soft skills. The program will be conducted by qualified staff and will include extensive theory classes and practical demonstration sessions. The trainee therapists will also be allowed to administer therapies under supervision to enable hands-on experience. Communication and demeanor (non-verbal skills) of the therapists will be specifically emphasized as they are in direct contact with the end users. Periodic assessments are designed to ensure effective penetration of course material.

Efforts will also be undertaken to place the candidates in suitable positions at the end of the training program.
