A three-day, Global Wellness Meet 2016 (GWM) was organised by the Govt. of Karnataka and Karnataka Ayurveda and Unani Practitioners Board, as part of its Golden jubilee celebrations that was conducted from 26th February to 28th February 2016 at Palace grounds, Bengaluru. This was an attempt to promote AYUSH as the first option for people to help them prevent diseases.
Dr.G G Gangadharan, Director, M S Ramaiah Indic Centre for Ayurveda and Integrative Medicine (MSR ICAIM) chaired the session on Rasayana and also enlightened the participants on the same topic. Similarly, keynote address by Dr.Sriranjini S. Jaideep, Clinical Registrar, MSR ICAIM on Neurological Diseases and Dr.B.J Gokulan , Visiting Netrachikitsa Specialist , MSR ICAIM, on Eye diseases were the main features at the Global Wellness Meet.
M S Ramaiah Indic Centre for Ayurveda and Integrative Medicine (MSR ICAIM) had a mini pavilion at the exhibition where services such as Free Ayurveda Health and Yoga Consultations and Prakriti analysis were offered to the general public. Medicines were made available at the medicine counter of the stall and facial and foot massage therapies were also offered there. We had a favourable response as people availed these services. Handouts containing information on Ayurveda related to different topics like Joint Pain and Arthritis, Skin and hair care, Pregnancy, Women’s health, Yoga for Mind, Body and Soul and others were also handed out to the public.
Hon. Minster for Health and Family Welfare, Mr. U T Khadar; and President Kaup Board – Dr. Sathyamoothy Bhat visited our stall. The stall was also visited by senior doctors in the field of Ayurveda by Dr. Srinivas Acharya, Dr. Srikanth , Dr. K. R. R. , Dr Gayathri, Dr.Mamatha, Dr.Jagadeesh Kunjal and Dr.Shailaja Rao.
