The study ‘’Evolution of the efficacy of Takradhara in Kitibha Kushta (Psoriasis)’’ is focused
on an important technique Takradhara and a common psychosomatic disorder Kitibha Kushta (Psoriasis).

The objectives of this study are – 1. To evaluate the efficacy of Takradhara in Kitibha Kushta
(Psoriasis), 2. To evaluate the efficacy of Aragwadi gana kashaya Takradhara in Kitibha Kushta (Psoriasis).The aim of the study was to find out the psychosomatic effect of Aragwadi Gana kashaya Takradhara in Kitibha kushta (Psoriasis). The study design selected for the present study was an observational study. After treatment out of 30 patients 8 patients (26.66%) got complete remission from the symptoms, 4 patients (13.33%) showed marked improvement, 7 patients (25.90%) got moderate improvement and 5 patients (16.66%) showed mild improvement. No response was found in 6 patients (20%). Among all the parameters Itching and Scaling showed high significant in all the parts. Other parameters like Erythema and Thickness were not significant in body and legs. ( As by using paired test). Triggering factors like Bhaya,Krodha and Chettodvega and Shoka were also studied and they showed high significant response. ( As by using paired test).
Kitibha kushta is a form of Kshudra kushta. Based on the similarities of symptoms and other
description available in the medical literature many of the Ayurvedic researchers who have worked on skin disorders have equated it to Psoriasis. Psoriasis is more stress sensitive than other skin disorders. Aragwadigana kashaya Takradhara, which was selected for the study showed that it is having the role in reducing vitiated manasika as well as shareerika doshas.
